How to use ABC's

ABC Format is a great way to hold traditional tunes. Using the appropriate software, tunes in ABC format can be printed out in standard music notation and can be played on your computer.

ABC format is also very compact, so you can hold many tunes in a very small space.

If you want to take an ABC from TUNEdb and display or print it in standard music notation then you will need a software program such as ABC2WIN. The easiest way to do this is, once you have found the ABC you are looking for, is to take the 'Download this ABC' link which appears when the full ABC is displayed. This allows you to store the file on your coimputer, or to display directly it in an application such as ABC2WIN.
